FAQ

Who are Right Way Auto Movers?

Right Way Auto Movers is an auto transport brokerage dedicated to helping our customers get the most out of their auto transport experience. Whether you are shipping across the state, across the country or across the ocean, we can move just about anything.

What kind of company is Right Way Auto Movers?

We are an auto transport broker. We work with you to coordinate pickup of your vehicle with a licensed and insured auto transport carrier.

How does car transportation work?

When you book your order with us, it is our job to quickly locate an auto transport carrier that will pick your vehicle up. Once we find a carrier we will give you their information for your records and we will inform you of your pickup window. Once your vehicle is picked up it will be transported to your delivery location in the order it was loaded. You will then pay the driver their balance upon delivery.

Are you fully licensed, bonded and insured?

As an auto transport broker we are required to be fully licensed and bonded. Any carrier we work with will be fully licensed and insured. All this is per federal laws and regulations.

What methods of shipping are available?

We offer a full range of auto transportation services. Our standard method is via open auto transport, though we also offer enclosed transportation services for high-end or valuable vehicles as well as flatbed (aka lowboy) transportation services for vehicles that are too large to fit on an open carrier or within an enclosed container.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a variety of payment methods. Our standard method is via a credit/debit card. You can call our office for more information on our acceptable forms of payment.

Do I have to pay cash on delivery to the driver?

Typically, yes. Cash on delivery is what most auto transport carriers prefer, though some of them are willing to work with us if you need to pay the entire balance up front. Talk to your auto transport representative for more details.

Can I pay the driver with a credit card?

No. Carriers will only accept cash, a cashier’s check or a money order for payment. They have no credit card processing capabilities and cannot process checks because they’re usually thousands of miles away from their bank.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. We require a deposit be paid before your vehicle is picked up. We usually do not require a deposit until your vehicle is at least scheduled to be picked up.

Do you accept alternate forms of payment?

Yes. However, alternate forms of payment are subject to verification and approval by our representatives. If you are concerned about being unable to pay for your shipment via one of our normal methods, call us and we will be happy to discuss your situation and help find a solution.

How long will it take to get my car picked up?

Typically, it’ll take anywhere from one to seven days from the day you book your order. Vehicles shipping out of major metropolitan areas will usually be picked up faster, as larger cities tend to have higher amounts of auto transport traffic moving through them. More remote pickup or delivery locations may see longer pickup windows due to fewer shippers moving through those areas.

How long does car transport take?

Once your vehicle is picked up it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to get it delivered to you. Transit time depends on the length of your route. A shipment of a few hundred miles will only take a few days, while a shipment of a few thousand could take a week or more. Overseas shipping typically will take the longest at three to four weeks from pickup to delivery.

Can I ship a non-running vehicle?

Yes. However, non-running or inoperable vehicles will have to be winched onto the auto transport truck (vehicles are normally driven on and off the transport truck). As not all carriers use a winch as it is not required on their truck, and it is a labor-intensive process to load a non-running vehicle, there will be a slight fee if your vehicle is not running. For more details regarding non-op shipping fees, give us a call.

Can I pack things in my vehicle?

The short answer to this is “no.” However, most transport companies will tell you that they don’t mind if you have a bit of junk in the trunk, as it were – as long as you let us know, our carriers will usually allow anywhere from 50-100 pounds of non-perishable, non-illegal, non-breakable items in the trunk of the vehicle. As carriers are not licensed to carry household goods having things in the cab of the vehicle is not available through most shippers. If you have further questions about what items are allowed and not allowed, give us a call.

What paperwork do I need to ship my vehicle?

We actually don’t really need anything from you in terms of paperwork. As long as you have the keys to the vehicle we will not need any proof of ownership. Any paperwork that is required to be filled out or signed we will provide you, or the carrier will provide to you at pickup and delivery.

Do I need to pay extra for insurance?

No. Any insurance fees or payment requirements will be included in the total price we quote you. Carriers pay a monthly fee, just like you, for their insurance policy on their trucks, and it will be the same regardless of how much they charge you. So no, you do not have to pay more for insurance. And as a followup, no, you cannot pay for extra insurance.

How far in advance should I book my order?

We recommend that you book your order at least a week before your vehicle needs to be picked up. We cannot guarantee pickup or delivery dates, but rather provide you with estimated pickup and delivery windows. If your transportation needs are more date-specific, we can work with you, but you will need to give us more time. If your pickup and/or delivery date is non-negotiable, give us two to three weeks lead time so we are better able to accommodate your shipping needs.

Can I get an auto inspection through Right Way Auto Movers?

If you are buying a vehicle sight-unseen, you will need to find someone else to do the inspection of the vehicle. We will not inspect your vehicle prior to purchase – our inspections are only for transportation purposes and are to be conducted with whoever is at the pickup and delivery locations and the driver.

What is your MC number?

Our MC# is MC-861567.
